The box art features Lunamaria Hawke's distinctive red-and-pink Gunner ZAKU Warrior equipped with its enormous Gunner Wizard backpack and Orthos high-energy long-range beam cannon.
The illustration emphasizes the machine's heavy artillery role, with the massive cannon extended into firing position while the ZAKU Warrior maintains a powerful combat stance. The characteristic pink-and-red color scheme immediately identifies this machine as Lunamaria Hawke's personal unit.
The MG packaging also highlights the extensive mechanical detailing and upgraded proportions introduced specifically for the Master Grade version.
🖼️ PRODUCT APPEARANCE
The MG 1/100 Gunner ZAKU Warrior (Lunamaria Hawke Custom) brings one of the most recognizable ZAFT mobile suits from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny into the Master Grade lineup for the first time.
Designed around the modern MG engineering standards of its 2019 release, the kit features carefully refined proportions, an extensive internal frame, improved articulation, and numerous mechanical gimmicks.
Its signature red, salmon-pink, and dark gray color scheme faithfully reproduces Lunamaria Hawke's customized ZAKU Warrior. The enormous Gunner Wizard equipment pack dominates the rear silhouette and is equipped with the massive Orthos high-energy long-range beam cannon, giving the mobile suit an unmistakable heavy-fire-support appearance.
The kit also incorporates flexible power pipes around the legs using insert molding and soft material, allowing the pipes to move naturally with the legs while simplifying assembly.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Gunner ZAKU Warrior is a specialized artillery configuration of the ZAKU Warrior developed for ZAFT forces. Lunamaria Hawke operates a distinctive custom-colored version of this machine during Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny.
For its first appearance in the Master Grade line, Bandai redesigned the Gunner ZAKU Warrior using modern MG engineering. The result is a highly detailed 1/100-scale model with an impressive combination of mechanical detail, articulation, transformation-like equipment gimmicks, and weapon storage functions.
One of the most impressive aspects of the kit is the enormous Gunner Wizard backpack. Its large Orthos beam cannon can be folded and repositioned from its stored configuration into a firing position, allowing the ZAKU Warrior to reproduce the heavy-artillery stance seen in the series.
The main body is equally detailed. The mono-eye can be moved from side to side, the chest hatch can open to reveal the cockpit, and the internal frame provides a strong foundation for dynamic posing.
The Master Grade treatment also improves one of the characteristic features of the ZAKU Warrior: its power pipes. Instead of requiring numerous individual pipe pieces, the kit uses insert molding and flexible materials to create a detailed appearance while maintaining movement and making assembly considerably easier.
🔧 MASTER GRADE ENGINEERING
The Gunner ZAKU Warrior uses an internal MG-style frame that supports a wide range of articulation throughout the body.
The torso, shoulders, arms, hips, knees, and ankles are engineered to work together, allowing the completed model to reproduce both standard standing poses and aggressive combat positions.
The internal construction also provides structural support for the large Gunner Wizard backpack and its massive beam cannon.
The design balances mechanical detail with practical posing, making it possible to display the ZAKU Warrior both as a heavily armed artillery unit and as a mobile close-combat machine.
👁️ MOVABLE MONO-EYE
The ZAKU Warrior's iconic mono-eye is reproduced as a movable mechanism.
The eye can be shifted from left to right, allowing the model to be positioned with different head orientations and giving the completed Gunner ZAKU Warrior a more expressive appearance.
This is particularly effective when the mobile suit is displayed aiming the Orthos cannon or Beam Assault Rifle.
🚪 OPENING CHEST HATCH & COCKPIT
A functional chest hatch can be opened to reveal the cockpit area.
A seated Lunamaria Hawke pilot figure is included to populate the cockpit, adding an additional layer of detail that is especially noticeable when the chest hatch is displayed open.
The kit also includes a separate standing Lunamaria Hawke figure for use alongside the completed mobile suit.
🎯 GUNNER WIZARD & ORTHOS BEAM CANNON
The centerpiece of Lunamaria's custom ZAKU Warrior is the Gunner Wizard.
Mounted on the back, this heavy equipment pack transforms the relatively compact ZAKU Warrior into a powerful long-range artillery platform.
The huge Orthos high-energy long-range beam cannon can be repositioned from its stored configuration into an attack position.
Its foregrip can be deployed so that the ZAKU Warrior can support and hold the weapon while aiming.
The large cannon gives the model an imposing silhouette and provides one of the most distinctive display options in the kit.
🔫 BEAM ASSAULT RIFLE
The included Beam Assault Rifle serves as the primary handheld weapon of the ZAKU Warrior.
The rifle features a movable foregrip and can be manipulated for different posing configurations.
When not in use, the rifle can be folded into its storage configuration and mounted to the rear waist section of the mobile suit.
This storage mechanism helps maintain a clean silhouette when the Gunner ZAKU Warrior is displayed using its heavy artillery equipment.
⚔️ BEAM TOMAHAWK
The kit also includes the ZAKU Warrior's Beam Tomahawk, providing a close-combat option in addition to its long-range artillery equipment.
The weapon complements the heavy Gunner Wizard equipment and allows the model to be displayed in a variety of combat configurations.
🛡️ SHIELD
A dedicated shield is included for defensive equipment.
The shield is mounted to the arm and features mechanical detailing appropriate to the ZAKU Warrior's design.
Its large surface also helps balance the visual weight of the enormous Gunner Wizard and cannon assembly.
💥 HAND GRENADES
The Lunamaria Custom ZAKU Warrior is equipped with hand grenades mounted around the waist.
These details contribute to the machine's heavily armed appearance and reinforce its role as a versatile ZAFT combat mobile suit.
🔩 FLEXIBLE POWER PIPES
One of the most notable engineering improvements in this MG kit is the treatment of the ZAKU Warrior's power pipes.
The pipes use insert molding combined with flexible material, reducing the need to assemble numerous individual pipe segments.
This approach allows the pipes to flex naturally as the legs move while retaining the characteristic mechanical appearance of the ZAKU Warrior.
The result is both easier assembly and better articulation around the legs.
